Drone is an unmanned Ariel vehicle (UAV) serve a variety of purposes, such as recreational, photography, commercial and military, their two basic functions are flight and navigation. To achieve flight, drones consist of a power source, such as battery or fuel, rotors, propellers and a frame. The frame of a drone is typically made of lightweight, composite materials, to reduce weight and increase maneuverability during flight. Drones require a controller, which is used remotely by an operator to launch, navigate and land it. Controllers communicate with the drone using radio waves, including wi-fi.
School students can participate in this event; certificate will be provided for participation. Cash Prize will be provided only if more than 5 teams have registered. Each team is required to construct a single drone. The maximum number of students in a team is 4. Each member must produce a valid ID card on registration desk. The weight or size of drone is not limited criteria. You should bring your own battery and other accessories. Power supply with extension cable will be provided by institution and the organizing teams do-not provide any extra components. At the start of the task, the drone will be placed at the starting point, should cross the hurdles in the design layout and then would reach the target location in stipulated time. Only 2 team members are allowed to be near the field while starting the drone. The starting procedure of the drone should be simple and should not crash with other drone or people involved. The flight should be away from spectators that are controlled by drone operators to be safely landed on target surface. The decision of the coordinators will be final and binding upon any participants. Number of rounds for the event depends on number of participants and the prizes will be given based on top three best performing teams in the event. Kongu Engineering College students can participate in the event and will be provided with participation certificate.
